Online Shopping Holiday in July

Procurement Weighs in On Online Retailers

Amazon Prime Day brings the craze of Black Friday shopping to July with steep discounts on a variety of products. This year they are including specials through Whole Foods Market, which is now owned by Amazon.Online Retailers

But competing retailers are not shying away from the rivalry. Target is taking aim at Amazon Prime Day with a shopping day of online-only discounts themselves, calling out the online giant by touting that there’s no need for a membership with Target’s online day of deals. And, of course, by scheduling their ‘One-Day Sale’ squarely during Amazon Prime Day.

Target is not the only one throwing their hat in the ring. Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, eBay, Kohl’s, Macy’s and more are running specials to entice buyers.

As Amazon continues to threaten the foot traffic other retailers rely on, retailers are fighting back in the online shopping arena. Connecting with shoppers through these retail events is a main key to retail survival right now.

Competing marketplaces online demonstrate the importance of having an easy-to-use, accessible online marketplace. As consumers flock to online marketplaces, businesses also rely on online marketplaces to power their purchasing. Online purchasing software is key to business purchasing success.
